Changes in relation to the prevention of the corona virus epidemic in public transport in Miskolc
The Hungarian Government declared an emergency against the risk of spreading corona virus. As a result, changes have been made to public transport in Miskolc: disinfection is more frequent, boarding at the first door is suspended, the MVK Service Centre only accepts contractual partners at a previously agreed time, and the occasional service by bus is suspended for an indefinite period.
Boarding at the first door is suspended, more frequent ventilation
MVK Public Transport Plc. will do its best to protect both passengers and its colleagues. To improve vehicle ventilation, boarding at the front door was suspended from Friday and we also ordered our drivers to open all doors at each stop where there is a passenger getting on or off. We also made it possible for all vehicle windows to be opened - in this respect, we asked the members of the travelling public to actively participate in vehicle ventilation and to open the windows as frequently as possible. The public transport service in Miskolc is still available using a valid ticket or pass, the existence of which is continuously checked by our ticket inspectors.
Ticket offices, customer service
From March 16, 2020, the Customer Service Office of MVK Public Transport Plc. will be closed until further notice. During this period, client service is only available via email or by phone during the Office's opening hours - Monday-Tuesday-Thursday from 8 am to 3:30 pm, Wednesday from 8 am to 5:30 pm, Friday from 8 am to 1:30 pm – on the following telephone number: 504-810 or at iroda@mvkzrt.hu. In case of found items, payment of surcharges etc. clients can be handled at the first desk window of the ticket office next to the Customer Service Office.
Passengers are asked to buy their tickets in advance at the ticket office (http://mvkzrt.hu/berletpenztarak) or at the reseller partners (http://mvkzrt.hu/jegyertekesitesi-pontok), not at the driver. Ticket offices are available for passengers during the standard opening hours. Should any change occur, we will inform the members of the travelling public through the usual channels.
The MVK Service Centre accepts its contractual partner to a limited extent
From March 16, the MVK Service Centre does not accept new clients, and our contractual partners can arrive to the agreed works only after prior telephone consultation.
The MVK Service Centre is available from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays by phone: +36 46 514 999, e-mail: szerviz@mvkzrt.hu
The occasional bus service is suspended for an indefinite period
Also from March 16, the occasional bus service of MVK Public Transport Plc. is suspended for an indefinite period.
Internal measures at MVK Public Transport Plc.
The closure of public education institutions created a new situation for our colleagues with children and for MVK Public Transport Plc. We have surveyed the colleagues involved in the placement of the children and, depending on their availability, we update the substitution of the positions and the rosters to ensure smooth operation of the public transport in Miskolc. We provide the possibility of home-office work as needed, since this is one of the easiest ways to minimize the risk of the virus. Certainly, we pay special attention to the regular daily disinfection cleaning and provide hand sanitizer to our colleagues who come in direct contact with the passengers.
