By acquiring a majority ownership stake, the city can take a more active role in shaping the future of the former industrial site. This is an important step towards settling the ownership situation and preparing for the long-term revitalisation of the area.

The city carried out the acquisition in two phases, financed 100% from grant funding. The state grant also covers the costs of operating the site and settling the ownership relations until 31 December 2027.

The acquired assets also include 41 buildings, structures and groups of structures, with a total reduced floor area of 57,351 m². The industrial railway sidings and the internal road network have also become the property of the city.

The Municipality now holds a 56% ownership share, which enables the city to play a more active role in shaping the future of the site. However, fully settling the ownership and land-use situation remains a further task.

The site of approximately 130 hectares is held in undivided joint ownership by around 140 co-owners. In addition to the ownership relations, land use, the registration of buildings, as well as technical and environmental issues also need to be resolved.

The final use of the site has not yet been decided. The development directions under consideration include modern industrial and economic activities, services, as well as commercial, research and development, cultural, sports and recreational functions.

Yes, the vision for the site includes industrial and economic functions. Priority may be given to activities that suit the characteristics of the site and allow operations with low logistics requirements and near-zero emissions.

The businesses operating on the site and their activities are an important part of how the DAM currently functions. Existing economic activities and established land use must be taken into account when preparing the revitalisation.

Due to past industrial activity, the environmental condition of certain parts of the site requires further investigation. The necessary environmental interventions and remediation tasks can be determined based on the results.

The development concepts under consideration include green areas, green corridors, recreational areas and community spaces. The specific locations and functions will be defined during further planning.

Work is currently under way to create the conditions for future development. This includes a geodetic survey, the preparation of a digital base map, preparations for settling ownership and land-use relations, and defining the technical scope of the work needed to tidy up the site.

The revitalisation of the DAM is a long-term process implemented in several phases. A date for the renewal of the entire site cannot be set at present; in the coming years, the focus will be on settling the ownership relations and preparing the developments.
